Tomorrowland: The World’s Largest EDM Festival

Do you dream of having an amazing experience, great live music, and unforgettable memories? Then head on to this magical place called Tomorrowland! This is an event when hundreds of thousands of music lovers from all over the world dance and sing together under one location. Even if you do not like Electronic Dance Music, I genuinely recommend you to go to Tomorrowland.

Tomorrowland is the world’s biggest dance music festival. They bring a lineup of world-class DJs to Boom, near Antwerp, in Belgium. Tomorrowland is more than just a music festival. It is truly a unique experience. These are the moments to which you will come back for many years. It is well known for its spectacular DJ roster, astonishing sets, over the top magical themed setting, and the incredible firework shows.

Every year, the theme changes, and the attention to the theatrical scenery is very detailed. Everyone that goes there lives a mystical experience in a fairytale land inside a massive place surrounded by a lot of attractions. It is like being in an imaginary world full of youthful energy, shapes, and colors, living within a spirit of love and respect.

Everyone is free to pick up a map of the park and see all the things Tomorrowland has to offer. This might sound overrated but Tomorrowland has become the Disneyland of festivals with 12 hours of the party along with the DJs namely Martin Garrix, Dimitri Vegas & Like Mike, Armin van Buuren, David Guetta, Axwell and Ingrosso, and many more!

Around 10,000 people witnessed the first year of Tomorrowland back in 2005. The main DJ was Armin van Buuren. The second year was moved to the last week of July and to Belgium with 15,000 people. This will be a choice that will be kept in the years to come. Since its debut in 2005, stories about Tomorrowland traveled across France, England, and Germany and the people gathered in Boom for the festival. The attendance inflated to 20,000 and the stages count increased to nine and for the first time ever the duration of the festival was lengthened from one to two days.

Since 2011, the event lasts for 3 days straight from Friday to Sunday. That's why if you want to experience the 3-day festival you have to camp at DreamVille. You may have to pay a little extra to take advantage of additional services such as a campsite in DreamVille. There are concerts and gatherings on Thursday for those that are camping in Dreamville. DreamVille camping opens one day before the festival and ends a day after.

Tomorrowland is no doubt a costly festival. The base ticket is worth $110 (PHP 5, 345) for a single day pass and the whole weekend full madness pass is worth $332 (PHP 16,133). If you want access to exclusive areas of the stages, catering services at the tables and the poolside, and a luxury mansion able to accommodate 12 people with comfort, you'll have to pay around $23,000 (around PHP 1.1M)

However, joining the festival you'll need lots and lots of luck as they require a pre-registration that allows the guests to sign up on a waiting list for the sale. It is actually one of the hardest parts of actually getting to the festival. Approximately 2 million people are all trying to get roughly 400,000 tickets. We’re so used to how Tomorrowland sells out the tickets but, every year we remain astonished by its speed. The tickets literally sell out in a blink of an eye! So be prepared, know which ticket you're going to purchase ahead of time. To buy a ticket you need to pre-register on the Tomorrowland website. You have to put in your contact information so you'll be notified on the day of ticket sales.

So let's say you're one of the lucky thousands who managed to get a ticket, there's something you should know: Tomorrowland is cashless. Meaning, you'll need to put money on your Tomorrowland bracelet(called pearls) to purchase items at the event. You can add money to your bracelet at the festival through a credit card or debit card. The rate is $23(PHP 1,117) for 13 Pearls. 1 Pearl was worth $1.89(PHP 92) at the 2019 Tomorrowland and most likely to stay that way in 2021.

The festival grounds are massive. There are so many stages ranging from a small cave to the biggest main stage all in a 38-hectare area so it will take some time to get from one place to the next. The main stage is where you’ll find the biggest names and the massive pit in front of it is where the biggest parties are at. Don’t forget to check out the other venues as well. If there are some artists you want to see and they might overlap, make sure you have an itinerary. You can download the official Tomorrowland app for the timetable and updates.

Need a break? Tomorrowland provides a ton of entertainment for when you need to recharge. You can rent a book, relax in the shade, and grab a meal. There is a library, restaurants, Love Chapel, Post Office, and other fun attractions. With all the events happening simultaneously, there’s no way you can see them all. One thing is for sure: the environment is lively and electrifying anywhere you go.

About 120 food stands are offering different types of food, dishes served in famous restaurants around the country so you do not have to bring water bottles or outside food. You can only bring that in if you're staying in Dreamville.

Don't forget to bring earplugs to protect your ears. Even if the event takes place in summer, the Belgian weather can be a bit moody, so it's better to have a backup raincoat just in case. I also suggest bringing a pair of walking shoes/sneakers and backup copies of your tickets or any other important documents.

Imagine partying and dancing with hundreds of thousands of people from across the world to celebrate music and love... It's an extraordinary feeling. It's truly an experience you'll never forget. When Monday hits you like a truck because it's time to go home you can relive the moments of the best weekend of your life. Every year they release an official aftermovie where they show the highlights of the festival. As they say, there’s no place like home, but there certainly is no place like Tomorrowland.

Unfortunately, Tomorrowland 2020 has been canceled due to the ongoing pandemic. This has been confirmed on Twitter and via Tomorrowland website. Check out this video for the announcement:

Guess we can just go back to last year's edition of Tomorrowland: The Book of Wisdom – The Return. It is the 15th Year Celebration edition in Belgium that welcomed back one of the most legendary stories ever told. 400,000 People of Tomorrow wrote their own chapter in The Book of Wisdom and witnessed performances by Dimitri Vegas & Like Mike, The Chainsmokers, Martin Garrix, Lost Frequencies, Armin van Buuren, Afrojack, and many other incredible artists. You can watch the Tomorrowland 2019 Aftermovie down below.
