SUN-MUN to hold its first-ever online Model United Nations Conference for a cause

From the 19th-20th of December, the Southeastern United Nexus - Model United Nations (SUN-MUN) will hold its first-ever Model United Nations conference online. SUN-MUN is an international online MUN conference based in the Philippines. As a start-up MUN conference, its organizers are composed of personalities from three different countries in Asia who are also experienced in this field.

There are four (4) committees available to aspiring delegates of this conference: Commission on Narcotic Drugs (CND), United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR), JCC: East Turkistan Liberation Alliance (ETLA), and JCC: The Chinese Politburo (TCP). With the theme of "Igniting Change: Enhancing Protection in an Increasingly Connected World", this conference is open not just for high school and college students, but also for those who are in the working class as well.

Meanwhile, Atty. Chel Diokno, a senatorial candidate in the last 2019 Philippine Midterm Elections and Dean of De La Salle University College of Law, will be the main speaker for this conference.

Registration for the first-ever SUN-MUN conference is still ongoing. All proceeds from this event will go to the National Children's Hospital in Quezon City, Philippines. This is the only hospital in the Philippines that specializes in pediatrics. But as the COVID-19 pandemic continues to affect everyone, they are also open to accommodate COVID-19 patients who are 0-19 years old and are financially incapable.

With these proceeds, the organizers will purchase vitamins such as ascorbic acid and zinc for the patients and staff who are dealing with COVID-19 on the said hospital.
